Irene's Super

Irene Summers, a recent retiree, entrusted Arbor Building with the renovation of her Enmore property, part of her superannuation portfolio. This renovation wasn't just about bricks and mortar; it was about preserving a cherished home and ensuring its continued contribution to Irene's retirement income. Having lost her husband a few years ago, Irene approached this project solo, with a desire to create a welcoming and comfortable space for her tenants, a place where they could truly feel at home. The property, sadly, had some significant issues, including damp damage in the bedrooms, a leaking roof, foundation subsidence, and general wear and tear.


The Scope and Challenges

The renovation brief was comprehensive, requiring Arbor Building to address a range of critical issues. We tackled the dampness and restored the bedroom walls, repaired the leaking roof, and stabilised the foundation piers to correct the subsidence caused by neighbouring construction. The project also included sanding and varnishing the floors, replacing subfloor in the kitchen, installing new kitchen wall cupboards, giving the bathroom some much needed attention repainting throughout, servicing the sash windows, and refurbishing the existing pergola. Irene's vision was clear: a clean, low-maintenance home, free of the damage that had accumulated over time.
